Statistics showing number of JAMB 2018/2019 candidates for different states in Nigeria has shown that Imo state tops the list again, making it 3 years in a row.
According to the statistics, the following three states have the highest number of applicants for the 2018/2019 UTME exam scheduled to start Friday, March 09, 2018:
- Imo state: 92,890 candidates
- Oyo state: 86,695 candidates
- Osun state: 86,044
On the other hand, the three states (including the FCT) with the least number of candidates are:
- Sokoto state: 13,456 candidates
- Zamfara state: 10,077 candidates
- Federal Capital Territory (FCT): 6,418 candidates
Also, this year’s JAMB saw a drop in the number of applicants. A total of 1.6 million candidates approx. applied for this year’s UTME, compared to 1.7 million candidates last year.
JAMB has attributed this decline to improvements in system which have helped to curtail certain irregularities like multiple registrations by candidates.
